Week 3; Day 1: Audio Mixer Console Preparation

Today was all about the Audio Mixer Console – a super exciting topic, especially when it comes to live streaming. On Monday, I worked together with my teacher to set up the audio systems for an upcoming livestream scheduled for Wednesday.

I learned a lot about how to properly set up and use an audio mixer console – from connecting cables and adjusting volume levels to using effects like reverb and equalizers. It was amazing to see how important good sound is for a livestream. Even small mistakes in volume or settings can really affect the overall experience.

While we were preparing everything on Monday, I asked my teacher if I could also take photos on Wednesday and learn how to work with a video camera. To my surprise and excitement, he said yes!

So today, I not only helped manage the audio mixer but also got the chance to take photos and get a first look into how to handle a video camera. I took some shots of the setup and learned about focus, framing, exposure… there’s so much to think about, but it’s really fun!

Here’s what I took away from today:

-The audio mixer console is the heart of any audio setup – especially for livestreams.

-Good preparation is key.

-And: always ask! Because by speaking up, I got the chance to explore two areas at once – audio and video!

I’m already looking forward to the next days – who knows what I’ll get to learn next?
