Day 4: Capturing Skills Finland – Photography and Video Production for Advertisement

Today was an interesting and engaging day. I had the chance to observe a group of students working on a project themed around „Skills Finland.“ The students were recording short videos and taking photos for an advertisement project. The focus was on capturing the skills and work of two construction workers, who were the main subjects of the shoot.

The students set up a professional photo studio, and it was fascinating to watch how they carefully planned each shot. They took several photos of the workers in action, highlighting their expertise and the tools they used. It was clear that lighting and angles played a significant role in getting the right image to convey the workers‘ skills.

In addition to the photography, the students also filmed short video clips. The videos were aimed at showcasing the workers‘ abilities and providing a closer look at their work in the construction field. It was interesting to see how the students directed the workers to perform different tasks while ensuring the shots and angles were dynamic and effective for the advertisement.

I learned a lot about the process of capturing content for a project like this, especially how to balance technical aspects such as lighting, framing, and camera movements to create a compelling visual narrative. Overall, it was a great learning experience, and I look forward to applying these insights in future projects.
