Today marked the first day of our school event, and it was both exciting and intense from the very beginning. I had a huge responsibility: I was given the opportunity to work with a video camera and film engineers and professors as they presented their speeches and projects. It was a really big deal – not just for me personally, but also because capturing these moments correctly was extremely important.
Before the event even started, I knew this wouldn’t be easy. The pressure was real. I had to focus the camera properly, adjust the angles, and make sure the lighting was right. There was no room for error. When someone important like a professor or an engineer steps on stage to talk about their work, you only get one shot to record it well – especially during key moments like:
-Speeches that opened the event
-Technical presentations of innovative projects
-Interactive Q&A sessions with students and guests
Each of these moments was valuable and needed to be documented perfectly for later use – whether for our school archives, promotional videos, or social media. Holding the camera and knowing that the whole team was counting on me made me nervous at first, but it also made me more focused.
One of the most memorable parts of the day wasn’t just the technical side, though – it was also being there for my love Oona. It was her first time working on an event like this, and she was understandably anxious. I could see she was overwhelmed, so I took a moment to talk with her, remind her that it’s okay to be nervous, and that everyone starts somewhere. I told her I was nervous too, and that we’re all learning together. After that, she calmed down, stayed focused, and handled her part like a pro. I was genuinely proud of how she managed to turn her anxiety into confidence.
What really made me happy was seeing how everyone on our team supported each other. No one was left behind, and even when little things went wrong (as they always do), we stayed calm and figured things out together. By the end of the day, we could all say:
✔️ The engineers and professors were filmed successfully
✔️ The audience enjoyed the event
✔️ We all managed our responsibilities
✔️ And most importantly – we grew through the experience
I’m honestly excited to see how Day 2 unfolds. I know there will be more challenges, but I also know we’re ready for them. Today was more than just an event – it was a reminder that teamwork, patience, and staying calm under pressure can turn a stressful day into a successful one.
Let’s go, Day 2 – we’re ready for you!
